Siamese male, neutered, vaccinated. Rescued from Alexandria with his mate Boosha who was pregnant and extremely malnourished, weak, eyes problems, lung problems. They were saved a lady in Alexandria but her neighbors did not like that she always rescued animals and bringing them home. Although her house is kept really clean they did not like it and started to threaten to throw her out. She had to give some of her cats away, asked for help from many places but no one listened or offered assistance. We could not ignore her pleas and tears, and she came all the way to Cairo to try and save them - we took them in. Picky is such a gorgeous boy with stunning eyes, and seems very proud of himself, does not like to fight or be annoyed, took great care of his mate until she delivered the kittens. He has a very kind look in his eyes but you can also see sadness.
Female, est. 9 months old, spayed, vaccinated. This sweet, friendly, cuddly girl was found as a little kitten by Nada our member. She was thrown in a box with 2 other kittens who were already dead. Nada lost her voice from meowing for what must have been a very long time. When the vet saw her he said she would not make it as she was cold and weak, but Bahra our president took her and said we will work with her and give her all the chances we can give, and bottle fed her back to health. Nada made it and grew up to be such a beautiful character and was named after her rescuer.
Wendy, female , estimated 2 years , sterilized
Marmar, female, now around 8 months old, sterilized
Maroon, male , now around 8 months old, sterilized
We would like to get this family adopted together. Wendy the mom was found with her sister in an isolated area in Alexandria when it was very cold. All were very weak and very young, cuddling each other trying to stay warm. They were picked up and brought to us all the way from Alexandria! There is no shelter in Alexandria, and they had a very clear case of pneumonia, and no one could care for them there. The bigger sister was very sick and died shortly after her arrival. Wendy struggled a lot and then we discovered she was pregnant. She completed the treatment for pneumonia and later gave birth to two kittens. Marmar the girl with 3 colors, and Maroon the boy beige and white. They are so attached to each other that if one of them is taken to be checked by the vet the other two are so upset and sad till the other one comes back. Wendy still takes care of them, licking and cleaning them all the time, waiting for them to eat first - they have an amazing bond together.
Meshmesh is a 10 month male, vaccinated and neutered. Our owner cannot keep us (Blacky and me) any longer because she is sick, and now we are urgently looking for a new home.
3 year old male, neutered and vaccinated. I was left by my owners at the vet's clinic, because they didn't want to pay for my treatment while I was sick. I'm extremely friendly, and am looking for a new family.
1.5 year old male, neutered, vaccinated, and de-clawed. I was left in the same veterinary clinic as Tiger, because my owners did not want to keep me anymore. Now I am looking for a new home. I'm extremely friendly, and get a long great with humans and other cats.
1 year old female, vaccinated. Our owner cannot keep us (Meshmesh and me) any longer because she is sick, and now we are urgently looking for a new home.
Female, est. 8 mos., spayed, vaccinated. My owner called the vet and said she would not come back to pick me up from boarding. If the vet had put me on the street, there would have been no way for me to survive against the strong Cairo street cats. A kind lady took me home as a foster cat. I am hoping for someone to adopt me and love me as much as I love people. I am a very feminine cat with hair that feels like silk. I like to snuggle by your arm when you sleep.
Male, est. 11months, neutered, vaccinated. I was found when I was one month old in the street in Cairo. I was living with my brother when a lady found me. She did not want to take me away from my brother, but my brother ran away every time the lady came near. So the lady left us milk and food. One day when she came to feed us, she noticed that my brother had completely disappeared. I climbed up on the lady's shoe and wouldn't let her leave without me. I am so sweet and friendly. I love all people.
Male, est. 1yr 3mos., neutered, vaccinated. I was left at the vet's office by a family who was too poor to give me the eye operation I needed. The vet found a sponsor for me who paid for the operation and then brought me to the shelter. I have only one eye, but I have no health problems. I am a kind Persian cat who would love a kind owner that loves me because I am beautiful and loving.
Female, 1yr. 2mos., spayed, vaccinated. I was born in the shelter. My mother and all my siblings were adopted. I am all alone and waiting for an adoption to a family that I can call my own.
Female, est. 1 1/2 yrs., spayed, vaccinated. A kind lady heard me meowing. She searched for me until she found me inside the engine of the car. I was only two months old. I was trapped and couldn't get out. The lady would not leave the car until she found a way to rescue me. Finally I made it to the shelter where I have been living ever since. I love life and will make a sweet friend to any family who takes me home in their car. I was named after the street on which I was found in Cairo, Abu Fedi Street.
4 months old kittens:
The Female (Sosta) found while she was really young and the children kept treating her like a toy; kept throwing her against a wall. Each time she returned they would throw her again and again. She kept meowing, pleading. Her sound was clearly of pain, but the kids just kept laughing.
The male (Berawi) is her brother. The same children buried him ALIVE! I could not believe myself and hurried to the place they put him and was digging like crazy hoping to be able to get him out in time, my hands were shaking, my heart bounding, my whole body shivering, I felt my hands too heavy and not fast enough but I cried hysterically when I finally managed to get him out and heard his panicked MEOW. Even now he can't deal easily with people, his sister is his only joy in life, with her he feels safe and happy, he cannot live without her, they do everything together.
Male, est. 1yr., neutered, vaccinated. I was rescued from a Cairo pet shop where I was kept in a small bird cage with only bread crumbs to eat. There was no litter box. I had lost much of my hair because of malnutrition. I am only one year old and am as sweet as toffee.
This cute little boy is not yet at ESMA. He was rescued by an Australian family, and he is still living with them now. Unfortunately they are returning to Australia in a few weeks and cannot take him. He is around 12 weeks old, is very friendly and loves human attention, is also trained to use the kitty litter box, loves to be indoors has so much fun jumping inside boxes and anything he can get into & is very playful. Please contact us for more information.
Male, est. 1 year old, neutered. Ebony came to the shelter with his mother Candy, who is a pure Siamese, because she dared to get pregnant from regular street cat. Ebony and all his siblings were born but the family did not care for them since they were not pure Siamese. The other kittens died from neglect when the family finally decided to give them up and brought them to us. Candy has been adopted and Ebony is waiting for someone to see that color is not how you judge anyone human or animal, especially Ebony who has a golden heart.
Male, est. 4 years old, neutered. Tolo’s owners decided they wanted a different breed! He is such a sensitive boy and it took him ages to understand what was happening to him and why. His sadness was so touching and we could not explain to him that human nature sometimes is not humane at all.
Males - we are not sure exactly how old they are. All three are neutered and vaccinated. Came from a home where the woman no longer wanted then and just put them out on the street. They were so scared and confused. Wezza and Ouda cannot be adopted separately, they are too attached to each other, but Coco (on the right) would do just fine alone in a new home.
Male, neutered, vaccinated, est. 3-4 years old, with that "special" look in his eyes. He was found on the street in bad condition - lost all his hair, dehydrated, and so skinny. But he has made a great recovery! He is very easy going, loving and needs a calm and quiet forever home.
Siamese Male, est. 4-5 years old, neutered, vaccinated. Hit by a car and abandoned, he was looking for shelter and crying so loud from pain. A caring human found him, brought him to us, where he is safe and healthy again. His favorite place is in a humans' lap. He's sweet and so loveable, great with all other cats too!
Siamese Male, est. 4-5 years old, neutered, vaccinated. Found in the Old Cairo cemetary - he was so scared. Had some eye problems but we took care of it and he's fine now, aside a little shading on his left eye. Loves all humans and other cats. Very mellow and easy going.
Female, est. 3 years old. This blind little lady seems to have been terribly abused on the streets where she was found, not moving at all. She was so skinny and scared. She likes to keep to herself but is very fond of human affection. Although she always has a sad demeanor, and a weak body. Needs a super-caring and quiet home.
Male - from the same situation as Wezza, Ouda, Coco
Est. 2 years old, Isis not neutered, but Amoon is. Poison rescue; their mother did not survive. A little shy in the beginning and need their own time to get used to you, but the wait is worth it. Once they trust you they won’t leave your side. Their other brother Ramsis is already adopted in Germany.
Male, est. 3 years old, neutered, vaccinated. He, along with many other cats used to live with an older lady who became ill, and could no longer care for her beloved cats. Her family members tossed them all into the streets, even the blind cats! Fekry was the only one we found. He is so kind and sweet, just a little shy at first until you gain his trust!

Female, est. 3 years old, spayed. Rescued from an abandoned building. She was very shy when she first arrived here, but has now found trust in us and is very sociable with the other cats, and humans alike. She needs a permanent home without fear of being abandoned again.
Male, est. 2 years old, neutered, vaccinated. One of our first kittens 2 years ago, Sergi found a home here in Egypt but was returned by the same woman who was now pregnant. The reason for his return to ESMA made no sense to us or Sergi. But he has adapted well to our cat house again, but he definitely wants to be the only one in a family. Won't you make this sweet charmer's dreams come true? Can leave for EU immediately.
Male, est. 2 years old, neutered, vaccinated. Mandoo was rescued from a luxury residential complex. People there have money but no feelings as they poison dogs and cats on a regular basis. Mandoo may have witnessed some of the pain from his companions as he has a look in his eyes that almost begs not to harm him. He is a handsome boy who deserves a life of serenity. Maybe he will find it with you?
